Ask Treasury AI a question

Treasury AI is Treasury’s assistant for questions about your money. You can start a chat on Home or the Treasury AI page, dictate a question or stop an answer.

What Treasury AI can look at

Treasury AI reads the same data you see in Treasury, from your connected and manual accounts:

  • transactions, categories, tags and spending by category, merchant or tag
  • budgets and how each one is tracking
  • account balances, net worth and its trend, and the status of your bank connections
  • credit cards, how much of each limit you use, and loans, with the rates and due dates your bank shares
  • which categories and merchants you use each card for
  • recurring payments, their price history and upcoming bills
  • investment holdings, how your portfolio is split, activity, realized gains and portfolio value over time

It can also do the maths for a plan and convert currencies at Treasury’s own daily rates. It can search the web for current facts like card offers, and look up how Treasury works. Some answers come as cards and charts; see Cards and charts in answers.

Changes and payments Treasury AI can’t make

Treasury AI can only read your financial data. It can’t edit, recategorize or delete transactions, or change budgets, categories, recurring items or connections. You make those changes yourself in the app.

Treasury AI can’t move money, pay bills, cancel subscriptions or contact a company for you. It only sees what’s in Treasury, so accounts you haven’t added are missing from its answers.

The only change Treasury AI can make is to its memories about you. See Control what Treasury AI remembers.

Treasury AI can make mistakes. Check important numbers in the app before you act on them.

How Treasury AI handles your data

Treasury AI uses outside services to answer you. Each one gets only what its part of the job needs:

  • Google Gemini writes the answers. It gets your question, earlier messages in the chat, your first name and the data Treasury AI looks up. It also gets your saved memories while learning is on.
  • OpenRouter names each new chat, using Inception’s Mercury model. It gets the start of your first message, up to 1,000 characters. Treasury asks OpenRouter to use only hosts that don’t keep or train on it.
  • Voyage AI helps Treasury AI search your transactions. It gets the search words and your transaction, merchant and category names, with emails, links and long numbers removed.
  • Parallel Web Systems runs web searches. It gets only the search words Treasury AI writes, which can include details you’ve shared, such as your state or employer. Treasury doesn’t attach your account data.
  • TypeSafe picks the suggested questions on Home. It gets category, merchant and bill names with rounded amounts. While learning is on, it also gets your recent Treasury AI questions, with personal details removed.
  • ElevenLabs turns dictation into text. It gets your audio and a short list of names from your account, such as merchants, account names and tickers. Treasury never stores the audio, and only text you send joins the chat.

Under Google’s terms for the paid Gemini API, your data isn’t used to train Google’s models. Google may keep requests briefly to monitor for abuse. Treasury doesn’t use your data to train any model.

The Treasury team doesn’t routinely read chats. They may look at one only to investigate a bug you report, answer a support request you send, or meet a legal obligation.
